With both teams almost assured to qualify from this group this game would decide the group winners.  Despite recent weather the game was played in near perfect conditions.
 DIT began the stronger and spurned several chances in the first half to take the lead.Mark Mcginley in the UCD goal was the busier of the keepers with his opposite number Craig Hyland a virtual spectator.
 Despite the DIT dominance It was UCD who broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute. From a swift counter attack they forced a corner on the right. From the corner Sean Huston beat Hyland at the back post and headed the ball back across the goal and despite the efforts of Niall Flynn who thought he had cleared the ball away the goal was awarded by the assistant Domnic Quiqley who was perfectly placed at the corner flag, 1-0 to UCD.  The goal gave UCD the lift they needed and the stayed on top for the next ten minutes until DIT equalised just before the blow for half time.
 The goal was set up following a series of neat passing moves down the right between Zambara, Kavanagh and Roach who then set up midfielder Sean Fitzgerald breaking forward to strike a thunderbolt shot that gave McGinley no chance.  The second half was just like the first with UCD counter attacking with Huston McFkaxen and Stephen Doyle threatening.

 DIT again had several great chances to seal the win but a combination of fine goalkeeping and some poor finishing meant the game finished all square.
