IT Tralee started the brighest and went on to dominate the first half, taking a 3-0 lead into the break. They added to their lead 5 minutes after the restart before Tipperary gradually came more into the game. The home team pulled back three goals, including one from the spot, and hit the post a further three times. As Tralee held on, the Tipperary students had one last chance to equalise in the last minute of the game with a great chance which missed by inches.
