Tralee IT opened their 2009/10 campaign with a comprehensive win over UCC in the Farm, UCC Wednesday October 14^th with 3 second half goals.

It was a game played in lovely conditions on a perfect UCC pitch that saw both teams squander good goal chances in the first half.

At times it looked as if UCC had the upper hand of the opening half as they played more as well oiled unit with plenty of good interplay.

Sporting 6 new members in the starting 11 it took Tralee close to 50 minutes to perform as a unit and a rearranging of personal saw more from Paul O Donoghue, Eoin Fitzgerald and striker Killian O Connor.

Tralee earned a corner in the 50^th minute following good work from young Presley Dube. An eager Eoin Fitzgerald drove in a low ball and a late arriving Paul O Donoghue drove the ball to the back of the net with a firm low shot.

UCC again took over possession of the ball but found it hard to breach a mean Tralee defence where center halves Shane Brosnan and Dave Moore were a rock behind the impressive debutant Brian O Connor.

But on the 75^th minute substitute Tadhg Fleming capped a fine performance when he beat the onrushing UCC keeper to put the Tralee college 2 – 0 ahead from a through ball from O’Connor.

However the best move of the game came 5 minutes later when O’Donoghue cleverly switched the ball to wide player Fitzgerald and his first time cross was controlled and finished to the net by O’Connor.
