Condition were harsh at the Oscar trainer coaching and development centre as Colaiste ide took on NUI Maynooth in the CUFL Premier east A division. NUI Maynooth started the brighter of the teams, Craig Mooney and Paul O Brien having early chances both sending their efforts over the bar. Ide weathered the storm and started to come more into the game. On the 20 minute mark Alan Mc Cann struck from a corner to put the home team ahead. NUI Maynooth created a couple of goal scoring opportunities before half time but didn’t hit the target or were frustrated by the Ide goalkeeper. NUI Maynooth were dominant early in the second half having the lion’s share of possesion, however Ide always looked dangerous on the break. Maynooth could not find a way through and on 90 minutes Shane Keely scored a free kick to finish what was for the most part an even contest
