2016 Farquhar Cup Final
UCC 4-1 DCU
UCC claimed the Farquhar Cup on home soil with a handy victory over DCU.
The game was practically settled in 16 minutes as UCC raced into a 3 goal lead with Sean O'Callaghan involved in all three goals. He opened the scoring on seven minutes before setting up Daniel Barry 3 minutes later. O'Callaghan would then be hauled down by David Gaul to win his side a penalty which he duly converted.
The pace of the game dropped off and allowed DCU to try and salvage something from the game. Chris McAnenly gave the Glasnevin side a brief glimmer of hope as he found the back of the net from a corner just before the break. However, his side could not expand upon that glimmer as they were easily repelled by the hosts who capped their campaign off as Evan Browne was sent through in injury time and left the ball in the back of the net.
