Closely contested games at Crowley Cup in Coleraine.

The IUFU Crowley Cup competition hosted by UUC 27th March - 29th March 2009

The IUFU Crowley Cup commenced on Friday with the quarter finals and
following some closely contested games the Cup semi finals shaped up for two
interesting ties between DCU v Cork Acad. And UCC v QUB.

A strong DCU side fought all the way but lost out  2 -1 to Cork Acad. In a
close contest while QUB with Lawrenson scoring his forth goal in two
games, narrowly overcame UCC 3 - 2 in the end.

In the final Cork Academicals took an early 2 -0 lead into half time and
succeeded in getting a third goal shortly into the second half.

QUB pulled one back with a penalty midway through the second half but Cork
finished off the game to win the Crowley 4 -1 with a late goal.

The Crowley Plate final played earlier in the day was won by UL who defeated
Maynooth 5 -2 .
