A Cillian Morrison goal was enough to earn Holders UCD a 1-0 victory over NUI Galway at Maynooth today.

In the other first round game UL defeated St Patricks College Drumcondra 5-3 with the UL goals coming from Craig Connolly (2), Aaron Joyce, Mark Culloty, Robert Doyle. Joe Rogan (2) and Anthony Williams got the Pats goals.
