DCU's John Mulroy got a late winner today against Trinty College, while in a repeat of the 2010 final a very strong UCD beat DIT 2-0. IT Sligo's Mark McGoldrick scored two as his side beat last seasons quarter finalists 2-0.
A Gary Martin hat-trick saw 2010 semi finalists Athlone IT get a great start away to GMIT.
In the South Division a late goal for CSN saw them shock UCC 2-1, last seasons semi finalists Cork IT beat IT Tralee 2-1 away. 2009 Winners UL lost 2-1 in Waterford.
