Aims This is a one year course designed to prepare students for a career in the leisure industry, or to provide a pathway to further study. The course aims to encourage students to engage in a broad area of study in both academic and practical areas.
Entry Requirements Leaving Certificate or equivalent is a requirement, together with an interest in the health and fitness industry. Applications will also be welcomed from mature students or recent school leavers. All applicants will be interviewed.
Career Prospects Students will have the opportunity to acquire skills of an academic and practical nature in order to establish a career within the Sports/Leisure Industry. Graduates may also qualify for entry to specified third level courses through the FETAC route, and possible links are DKIT, Tralee IT, Waterford IT and Newry Institute of Further Education.
