IT Sligo won 3-1 pens

IT SLIGO progressed to the final of the WSCAI national futsal finals after a penalty shoot-out victory over UCC.

A tense clash had produced the first scoreless draw of the day.

The first penalty was converted by UCC’s Yvonne Cahill and IT Sligo then saw Annie Lynskey’s penalty smash off an upright.

UCC’s Sarah Clune then saw her effort touched onto the post by IT Sligo keeper Emma Cullen and Deirdre Doherty levelled the scores when she fired home.

Zoe Murphy was next up for UCC  but Cullen produced another impressive save and IT Sligo took control when Aileen Gilroy fired home.

UCC suffered another blow when Michelle McNally had her effort saved by Cullen and Kim Flood wrapped it up to clinch a 3-1 shoot-out win and secure a meeting with DCU in the final.
